Historians often disagree about how little the medieval parts of Odiham have changed. Michael Hughes is a Historian who believes that Odiham hasn't changed much. Unfortunately I don't know much about Michael Hughes, I only know that he wrote "Small towns of Hampshire. The quote comes from a visitors leaflet in 1986; the point of a visitors leaflet is to attract people to Odiham, to do this it will have to portray Odiham as great place to visit. Michael Hughes may have exaggerated certain facts to make Odiham seem a better place than it actually is, having seen the building's my self I would say that he has exaggerated slightly.
