Practical assessment Solar Cell A solar cell is a device which produces electricity when either an artificial light source or sunlight falls on it. A solar cell changes light energy into electrical energy. Unfortunately, most of the energy is wasted. Because of the sun's motion, the sun is not obtainable all of the time, it is only available at certain predictable times and even then it may be covered by clouds during the day. It is very easy to transfer the sun's rays to electrical energy, this is by using PV cells Photo voltaic cells however these PV...
was to convey this investigation yet again I would use different variables, my results would be better if the experiment was to take place in a complete dark room with no light present except the light used in the experiment, this way a control wouldn't be needed. If I was to carry the investigation further I would test my prediction by keeping the solar cell facing the light source at all times but moving it further away and comparing the results with the previous test, I would then make a conclusion of them both together.

Aim: To investigate the heat loss of the insulating materials, bubble wrap, cotton wool, blanket and foil Introduction: I will carry out this investigation by measuring the temperature of hot water in beakers insulated with these materials. Naturally the insulated beaker with the warmest water will have prevented...

Resistance is where the electric current is made to change the flow of charge. It is the repulsion between free electrons and the outer shell electrons from the atoms that are responsible. Electrons carry the charge and we know this because both the protons and neutrons are in...

Aim: To find out how thickness of the wire affects on the level of resistance. Prediction: I predict that as the wire gets thicker, the less the amount of resistance. This is because as electrons pass through a circuit, they give off heat. The surrounding atoms use this heat as...

Aim: In my experiment I am aiming to discover what happens to the resistance of a wire as the length is changed. Independent variables - Length of wire - Diameter of wire - Material of wire The factor I will be investigating is length. I have chose not to investigate...
