Enthalpy changes on displacement and the reactivity series Introducton In this investigation my task is to design a plan for an experiment involving enthalpy change of a displacement reaction between a metal and a solution of a displacement reaction between a metal and a solution of salt is related to the relative position of the two metals in the reactivity series. I will be provided with zinc metal and solution of copper sulphate and lead nitrate. Procedure I will firstly measure out copper sulphate solution and giving the concentration as molarity. I then in...
any of the solution splashing out. Will also need to wear gloves because lead is poisonous and because the copper sulphate can be corrosive.

Accuracy of results
To ensure that my results are as accurate as possible I will repeat the experiment a number of times. I will also look at the measuring temperature more carefully so the readings are correct. I will use a bomb calorimeter instead of a beaker because it's a much better insulter meaning less heat will be loss to the surroundings, and so my results will be much more accurate.
One clear representation, which will be discussed later, of the controversy surrounding the use of synthetic products versus natural products, lies in vitamins. A vitamin is a composite of the natural world that is made up of enzymes, coenzymes, antioxidants, and mineral activators. The decision on which one a person...

I am presented with the problem of deriving a method to find out what products are formed in the thermal decomposition of copper carbonate CuCO3. The two possible equations for this reaction are: 1 2CuCO3s Cu2Os + 2CO2g + 1/2O2g 2 CuCO3s CuOs + CO2g ...

Iron comes from the Latin word ferrum. From ferrum its symbol became Fe. The atomic number of iron is 26, and its atomic weight is 55.845. Iron is a magnetic, bendable, shiny white metallic element. Pure iron has a hardness that ranges from 4 to 5. It is soft and...

LSD is a hallucinogen. In fact, it is the most potent hallucinogen known to man. LSD is 100 times more potent than psilocybin or psylicin and is 4000 times more potent than mescaline. It was synthesized in 1938 by a chemist who worked in Switzerland. There were no benefits for...
