Assignment Two - [Question 1] Source A an east end news paper report shows us about how Polly Nicholls was murdered such as that the two murders of Polly Nicholls and Martha Tabram shocked the people of the East end "two murders which have startled London" this doesn't just make it sound more interesting but gives the impression that the event is more wide spread. Also the paper suggests there was no reason at all for the murders to take place "no adequate motive" for the reasons such as they weren't mugged for money as the victims were described as...
"E" the police were accused of not communicating with each other, working together and contaminationg crime scenes, this could be argued as a astunt towards the capture. Aswell as the police being too "scared" to patrol at night but on the other hand was mainly for the officers protection. Shown in source "G", a reward was not offered for the capture of Jack The Ripper so the public had no motive towards assisting the police although the police could argue that a reward could result in more excessive violence from others in an attempt to earn a few bob.
