The treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28 1919 in Paris. It was a sign to try and show that there would now be peace after the bitter struggle. Main terms: The major terms for the treaty of Versailles were: 1. To reduce it's army to a mere 100,000. 2. To reduce it's navy to 24 ships with no submarines. 3. The navy personnel is not to exceed 15,000 4. To abandon all military and naval aviation by October 1st 1919. 5. To stop any production of war materials from taking place....

The worst thing of all for the Germans would have been the amount of land that they had to cede. They had to cede this land to various nations. Alsace-Lorraine was returned to the French. Belgium received some small districts of Malmedy and Moresnet. Poland got large parts of West Prussia and Posen. The port of Memel was given to the allies and later given to Lithuania. Germany also lost other little parts of land. In all Germany lost 70,000 sq. km. of land. In other words it lost 13% of its European domain.
