The treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28 1919 in Paris, it involved Clemenceau, the French Prime Minister, Lloyd George, the English Prime Minister, and Wilson, the American President. They resulted in economic sanctions and not military force, this was the main reason they failed, because the country under sanctions could get go to another source not taking part in the league of nations. Plus they did not have the international support they needed. The only way it would have worked was if everyone, globally, obeyed the rules, but not everyone did so. The significant failure, that contributed to war was that they let countries get away with disrupting peace this gave everyone confidence.
